Exploring the Contemporary Impact of Hip Hop Culture

To enhance their current unit of Inquiry, “Words Spoken or Sung”, Gr.5 students travelled to the Harbourfront Centre to explore the fascinating musical and cultural phenomenon of Hip Hop.

Students participated in an interactive program breaking down the four elements of hip-hop. Students learned about the roots of hip hop as well as the contemporary impact of hip hop culture today and learned for themselves how hip hop can be used as a tool for self-expression.
