MacLachlan College students visit Rattray Marsh

Gr.4 Visit to Rattray Marsh

On Wednesday, September 25th our MAC Gr.4 classes went on an experiential learning trip in support of their Habitats unit of inquiry. Students had an exciting day of discovery, travelling to Jack Darling Park and the Rattray Marsh to participate in activities and explore the different habitats and the effects of changing habitats in conservation areas.

In the afternoon Gr.4 students made their way to Big Al’s Aquarium to learn more about the characteristics, habitat, ecosystem, and responsible care of aquatic animals and plants. Students were excited to have the opportunity to feed the carp and interact with many different types of fish and reptiles. However, the highlight was definitely Pablo the shark!
