Gr.9 Students Experience a Christmas Carol

Grade 9 students travelled to Niagara on the Lake to experience the Shaw Festival’s 3rd annual production of “A Christmas Carol”, a stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’s novella of the same name. Many students were, of course, familiar with the morality tale of a hard-hearted businessman who comes to learn the importance of human compassion, but what was new to them was the Shaw Festival’s mesmerizing treatment of the play using actors and live-action puppets.

The trip definitely motivated students to want to seek out more live theatre as a unique and fulfilling arts experience.
