Guilty! …of Cross-Curricular Learning

The Grade 12 law class and Grade 10 drama class worked collaboratively to complete a youth criminal court case mock trial of R v. Wilson.

Students explored the criminal law process from charges to sentencing and put their knowledge into practice by undertaking the roles of counsel for the Crown and Defence. A heated trial began with many objections from both sides, with the drama class acting as witnesses and the jury panel. Ultimately a verdict of not guilty was returned and the accused was acquitted on all charges.
