Grade 5 Students Enjoy a Day of Learning at Crawford Lake
Grade 5 students recently enjoyed an exciting trip to Crawford Lake, where they experienced both nature and history. Their day began with a scenic hike around the beautiful meromictic lake, allowing them to appreciate the stunning surroundings while learning about the unique ecosystem. They also visited a traditional longhouse, gaining valuable insights into the Wendat way of life, including cultural practices and daily routines that have shaped their community for generations.
To cap off their adventure, the students participated in a spirited game of lacrosse, a sport with deep roots in Indigenous culture. This trip provided a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with the natural world, their peers, and the rich history of the Wendat people. We are proud of our Grade 5 students for their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout this enriching experience!
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
