Yesterday, Grade 11 and 12 students at MacLachlan College participated in our first-ever Alumni Leadership Conference, a milestone event aimed at connecting current students with alumni.
The event kicked off with a speech from Audrey Hadfield, our founder, followed by a panel of distinguished alumni who shared personal stories of leadership, challenges they faced, and the lessons they learned along the way. Their insights into overcoming obstacles and building resilience left a lasting impact on our students.
The afternoon consisted of small-group breakout sessions, where students had the opportunity to work directly with alumni on real-world scenarios. These included conflict resolution, career exploration, networking strategies, and much more. It was a unique opportunity for students to engage in mentorship with alumni and build skills they can apply in their academic and professional futures.
A heartfelt thank you to Rachel O'Hagan, our Alumni Relations Manager, for organizing and facilitating this event. We look forward to continuing to foster connections between our students and the alumni network as we work together to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
