  • Lower School Student Information Systems (SIS) Administrator

    The Position:
    The Lower School SIS administrator is responsible for the operation of the Lower School School’s Student Information systems and the related data. The Lower School SIS administrator manages the student data, including personal information, attendance records, grades, schedules, report cards and more. This involves entering new student data into the system(s), updating existing data, providing exports, and ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date across multiple platforms. The Lower School SIS administrator is accountable to and works closely with the Director of IT to ensure the system(s) properly supports the functions of the school and to ensure our school data is accurately reported to the Ministry of Education as required.
     
    The Lower School SIS administrator will also act as daily back up for the Front Office Administration staff for coverages and duties.
     
     
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Enter and maintain all constituent (student and parent) data across multiple systems, including Teacher/Course/Room and Student timetables, student credit information.
    • Create and maintain Ministry of Education records including the OSR, OEN, MEN and Office Index Cards.
    • Produce report cards, as requested and at scheduled intervals throughout the school year.
    • Proofreading & editing all report cards and printing and filing all required documents in the students’ OSR
    • Assist Director of IT with ONSIS reporting in the Fall, Spring & Summer and make data corrections where required.
    • Creating Lower School homerooms, course schedules, class lists
    • Setting up and maintaining report card templates.
    • Preparing letters and exports as required.
    • Perform other related Administrative Assistant duties and daily reception coverages.
     
    Skills and Qualifications:
    • Post secondary education, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
    • A minimum of Five (5) years of experience managing a Student Information System is an asset.
    • Knowledge of: Blackbaud SIS, Trevlac Online Student Management, ONSIS and OEN Applications, Core Office 365 Applications
    • Ability to manage student data with a high level of accuracy across multiple student information systems and Ministry of Education Applications.
    • Strong communication skills in being able to communicate effectively in both written and oral form with people of various levels of technical abilities,
    • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and able to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in an education environment.

  • Primary/Junior French As A Second Language Teacher 

    Commencing September 2025
     
    Primary/Junior French As A Second Language Teacher Position Overview:
    The successful candidate will bring a thoughtful, hands-on approach to the classroom that actively engages the students and develops them as critical thinkers and problem solvers. French teachers are responsible for teaching French as a Second Language using the AIM(Accelerative Interated Methodology) program within the IB-PYP(International Baccaleureate Primary Years Programme) framework, an inquiry-led, transdisciplinary model that places the student at the centre of the learning. Our teachers are responsible for curriculum planning, instruction, and assessment for the courses that they teach. Some additional responsibilities may also be assigned as part of the teacher’s duties.
     
    Teaching Position Expectations: The ideal candidate will… 
    • Utilize a variety of teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student success.
    • Use a variety of assessment strategies, both formal and informal, to monitor and report on student learning.
    • Exhibit strong, positive classroom management skills with a focus on building classroom community and ensuring student learning.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues, co-plan with homeroom teachers and the PYP coordinator, attend meetings and be a part of the PYP Teacher Team.
    • Adhere to the IB PYP philosophy and curriculum framework and apply it with fidelity to classroom practices.
    • Follow the practices and policies outlined in the MacLachlan College Teacher handbook.
    • Be willing to make modifications and accommodations as necessary to support ELLs, students with IEPs, gifted students, etc.
    • Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents and colleagues alike.
    • Display initiative, enthusiasm and a willingness to participate in all aspects of faculty life at MacLachlan College.
    • Have a positive attitude and be willing to grow their professional practice by engaging in professional development initiatives.
    • Have strong organizational and time management skills, and a proven ability to craft and adhere to deadlines on small and large scales.
     
    Position Qualifications & Abilities: The ideal candidate has…
    • An Ontario Teaching Certificate (Good Standing)
    • Subject specific qualifications and willingness to gain additional levels
    • Prior experience teaching the Ontario and/or PYP Curriculum an assest
    • Prior experience teaching French as a Second Language through the AIM program an assest
    • Considerable knowledge of the “Growing Success” assessment policy document
    • Familiarity with SMARTBoard, iPad technology, Teams, Toddle and Atlas Rubicon curriculum mapping 
    • Experience related to running or supporting co-curricular activities
