Future Forward: Exciting New Learning Opportunities at MacLachlan!

A New School, New Learning Experiences, and a New Way to Curate YOUR Learning Pathway!

We’re already looking ahead to our 2024/25 school year! Last week, we KICK-STARTED our new experiential, Independent, Interdisciplinary Studies Credit. Twenty-eight of next year’s grade 10, 11, and 12 students gathered to explore what Interdisciplinary Inquiry might look like.

The new Interdisciplinary Studies Credit at MacLachlan is a unique opportunity for students to curate their own learning pathway and engage in authentic real-world learning. Students who have been accepted have completed applications to investigate self-identified topics that extend learning in multiple disciplines.

We have tied this learning to an opportunity to travel to Japan, providing a learning experience that fosters discovery and academic enrichment.

Last night, students got to work together for the first time as a group, exploring how interdisciplinary connections can be forged.

This year is not even finished, and already we are looking forward to a year of exploration, discovery, and research starting in September… We can’t wait!
